My journey into sound design began in 1980, when I was performing as both a guitarist and keyboard player. Those were the pioneering days of analog synthesis and digital sampling, and I quickly became fascinated with creating sounds rather than simply playing them.

My first instruments were the Ensoniq Mirage and the Korg DW-8000, where I learned the art of sampling and sound programming. As technology evolved, so did my passion. I began collecting and mastering nearly every major analog synthesizer and sampling keyboard available, eventually owning more than 250 instruments throughout my career.

What started as a passion soon became a profession. I specialized in programming original sounds for both analog synthesizers and digital sampling keyboards, creating custom libraries that were used by professional musicians, recording artists, and keyboard players around the world.

Rather than copying existing presets, I developed my own sounds by studying the character and feel of legendary synthesizers and recreating them through careful programming and sampling. Every sound in my collection was created through years of experience, experimentation, and a deep understanding of both analog and digital synthesis.

Over the years, I built extensive sound libraries for many of the world’s most iconic instruments, including the Fairlight CMI Series I, II, and III, Synclavier II, ORK, Minimoog, Memorymoog, Jupiter-8, Oberheim Matrix-12, and countless others. From the Mirage to the Matrix-12—and virtually everything in between—I programmed original sounds that musicians relied on for studio recordings and live performances.

Having spent decades working with both analog VCO synthesizers and digital sampling technology, I discovered that expertly crafted samples can faithfully reproduce the warmth, depth, and character of classic analog instruments. This is precisely why legendary systems like the Fairlight and Synclavier became so revolutionary. They offered creative possibilities that traditional analog synthesizers simply couldn’t achieve while preserving the authentic sound musicians loved.

Today, after a lifetime dedicated to music and sound design, I’m proud to share this extraordinary collection with the next generation of musicians, producers, composers, and collectors.

Each preset in this collection is built from 11 carefully sampled source sounds, which together form the foundation of a complete preset. While every preset begins with the same 11 samples, those samples can be transformed into countless variations by adjusting parameters such as the ADSR envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release), filters, amplifier settings, modulation, and other synthesis controls. This means a single set of samples has the potential to produce many unique presets, each with its own distinct character and musical expression.

The presets included in this library have already been professionally programmed, so there is no need for you to spend hours sampling or creating sounds from scratch. Simply load the preset and start playing. If you enjoy sound design, however, you have complete freedom to modify the presets and create your own custom sounds using the same sampled material. The flexibility is entirely in your hands.

My process has always been simple: I acquired the original keyboards, learned every detail of how they worked, carefully sampled them at the highest possible quality, and then programmed expressive, performance-ready presets that capture the true character of each instrument.
